How can we use our senses to ease stress and anxiety?

In this haiku-centred workshop, participants will take a meditative and art-inspired journey through sight, taste, touch, smell, and sound. Through contemplative listening and writing, we will create haiku both independently and in collaboration. Along the way, we will explore haiku alongside other poetic and musical forms, reflecting on the sensory oases found in nature and art.

Poetry and music will include haiku and works by Mary Oliver, Over the Rhine, and the 8th/9th-century Taoist poet, Hanshan.

No prior literary or creative writing experience needed!

Your Host: Dr. Julie Sutherland is a widely published literary consultant, creative producer, and award-winning educator and entrepreneur. She harnesses her expertise in the arts, humanities, and anti-racism to advance social justice and personal transformation.
