A Deeper Dive
What It Is
A close, critical read of your manuscript to sharpen your voice and polish every sentence.
Goals
- Elevate style and clarity
- Ensure coherence and consistency
- Enhance readability
- Verify suitability for your target audience and purpose
- Trim excess to meet word-count limits
Formats I Edit
- Academic: papers, edited collections, monographs, dissertations
- Business & Corporate: reports, proposals, policy docs, presentations
- Creative & Journalism: fiction/non-fiction books, articles, scripts, plays
- EAL: writers for whom English is an additional language
Please note:
- I don’t format bibliographies, create indexes, or edit resumes/CVs.
- I follow basic publisher style guidelines (serial commas, dashes) but don’t apply full APA/MLA style.
- Next-business-day projects, where possible to schedule them, incur a 25% surcharge.
- The editing process does not guarantee publication.
Why Get an Evaluation First?
Writers gain an expert, impartial perspective on their work’s strengths and weaknesses before investing in a full copyedit or facing rejection by a publisher.
Who's It For?
Emerging and established authors of novels and short stories (adult, young adult, children); scripts, screenplays, and audio dramas for radio/podcasts; non-fiction (arts, humanities, social sciences).
What You Receive
- Evaluation of writing technique (style and technical astuteness).
- Assessment of content.
- Suggestions for developing/finessing the manuscript.
- Responses to three specific questions you are invited to submit with your manuscript.
Please note: Evaluation does not guarantee publication.
