Fees as Tailored as Your Project
One size doesn't fit all and that's a good thing! Please click on one of the services below to view the fee structure. Don’t hesitate to reach out to discuss what your project will cost. I’m happy to discuss your needs and provide a personalized quote. No pressure, no surprises!
The fee structure is as follows:
- My basic rate is CA$70 per hour (tax incl.), and I bill by the quarter hour.
- International clients will be billed based on the exchange rate of the day I create the invoice. To estimate the exchange rate, I use the RBC Foreign Exchange Currency Converter. The final exchange rate is determined by the payment processor.
- Please contact me for an estimate and to discuss a timeline. My estimate for your project will depend on the nature of the consultation.
- If you are contacting me for an estimate for copyediting services or a book proposal review, please note the following:
- When you provide your word count, please do not include references (bibliographies), as I do not edit these.
- Payment is due on receipt of your edited document.
- I do not accept personal cheques. In cases where you are billing your employer, company cheques are acceptable.
- Cancellation Policy: 72 hours’ cancellation notice is required. Otherwise, 50% of the estimate will be charged.
- For lengthier copyediting projects (10,000+ words), an optional post-edit consultation (maximum one hour) is included in your quote. Subsequent consultations are billed at the original hourly rate.
Short Extract (up to 2,500-words): CA$195 (tax incl.)
Full Manuscript: CA$195 for first 2,500 words + CA$2.25/every 250 words thereafter
- E.g., Fee for a 50,000-word submission: CA$195 for first 2,500 words + CA$427.50 for remaining 47,500 words = CA$622.50 (tax incl.)
- Please note the word count does not include footnotes and references, which are not included in the evaluation process.
- International clients will be billed based on the exchange rate of the day I create the invoice. To estimate the exchange rate, I use the RBC Foreign Exchange Currency Converter. The final exchange rate is determined by the payment processor.
- Please contact me to confirm the fee for your document and to discuss a timeline.
Please check individual listings for the fee for that event.
